Lanning Joe

1%20FFcovericon2_98.gifJoe Lanning and his family came to the district in the late 1920's from southern Alberta. He was originally from Argentina and his wife from the States. She had been a school teacher at one time. They built a small house and a few other buildings that were necessary. The old house still stands there and that is the place where Albert Hammond resides now. They had four daughters, Helen, Elizabeth (Bobbie), Isabel, and Dolores and they all attended school at Fern Chapel. Another daughter, Harriet, was born here later on. Mr. Lanning passed away and a few years later the family left here and went to British Columbia----about 1936.
