Bill Hansen was a young bachelor from Minnesota and came in the fall of 1912. His homestead was the S.E. 13-57-5 where Ole Johnson lived later on. A shack was built by him and it stood there after he was gone and Ole lived in it when he came to the place many years later. Bill cleared some land and did a bit of fencing. In the summer he went out to work and lived on his place only during the winter months. He was a good musician and played at local dances. It was around the latter part of 1914 when he left the district.
