Owing to the nice weather the threshing and combining is well under way in the district. Most of the grain is badly frozen.
The Ladies had their October meeting at the home of Mrs. R. Brown, with a very good attendance. We decided to have have Our Annual Chicken Supper, Bazaar, Bingo and Dance on Friday, October 29th. A raffle of a lovely satin comforter will also be held. As a second prize for this raffle we have a lovely satin-bound wool blanket, tickets for which will be available at the dance.
We were certainly pleased to receive the visit of Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Lawrence from Greenwood, B.C.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Valentine from Edmonton also Mr. and Mrs. H. Link of Edmonton were visiting friends and relatives over the weekend.
Miss Carol Holly has left for Three Hills, Alta., to resume her schooling.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hellquist with- the R.C.A.F. were visiting their Aunt and Uncle, Mr and Mrs. Gus Hellquist.
Rufus Kepke shot a big black bear that was prowling around near a bunch of cattle north of his farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Booth and daughter Carol were weekend visitors from Edmonton.
